Both Carolinas are spotlighted on this edition of the program. The orchestral portion comes from a USC School of Music Ensemble Concert with special guest violinist Vadim Gluzman. He’s soloist for the Brahms Concerto and caps off the event with an encore of Bach. The concert from the 2011-2012 performance season also features Beethoven’s familiar Symphony No. 5. Then the focus shifts to the Unifour area for selections from a holiday concert in 2010 by the Kontras Quartet, including delightful excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s much-loved seasonal favorite arranged for string quartet.
