From the Greenville Orchestra’s Chamber Series, this program provides a sampling of 20th century and contemporary work ranging from Prokofiev’s well-known student symphony in homage to Haydn to a recent work featuring tambourine soloists from American composer Michael Daugherty. Rounding out the program is a performance from the Charlotte Symphony’s 2010-2011 season with the rising violinist Caroline Goulding, a veteran of the From the Top radio showcase of young performers. She plays Bruch’s beloved, folk-inspired concerto.
